TUMMY TUCK

TUMMY TUCK

WHAT IS A TUMMY TUCK (ABDOMINOPLASTY)?

Abdominal contouring surgery is one of our most popular procedures performed here at Brown Plastic Surgery. Women and men seek this procedure whether it is from massive weight loss or from childbearing. The toned figure you desire can be yours – and it’s closer than you think. By removing loose skin and tightening abdominal muscles, Dr. Brown can reveal the youthful, contoured physique that you desire.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR TUMMY TUCK SURGERY?

You may be a good candidate for a tummy tuck if:

  • You are healthy and your weight is relatively stable but have an excess amount of loose skin and fat in the abdomen.
  • You are a woman whose skin and muscles have been stretched and no further pregnancies are planned.
  • You are a man with sagging abdominal skin and fat.

HOW DOES A TUMMY TUCK WORK?

At Brown Plastic Surgery, we understand that laxity of the abdominal wall, stretch marks, and loose skin can affect your confidence and impact how you feel about your appearance. That’s why abdominoplasty is among our most popular procedures – allowing you to wear any outfit, and embrace the world with confidence.

Like every case in our office – we take a fully customized approach to your needs. Dr. Brown’s results speak for themselves, and his artistry in abdominoplasty is second to none. By taking the time to understand the outcome you hope for and what you’d like to see in the mirror, we will craft a surgical plan to provide you with the sculpted, shapely waist you desire.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM A TUMMY TUCK?*

There are few other procedures that provide a transformation as  pronounced as a tummy tuck – especially when performed by a surgeon with Dr. Brown’s range of skills, precision, and finesse.

A tummy tuck is designed to:

  1. Reduce unwanted fat of your abdomen.
  2. Remove loose unwanted skin.
  3. Improve laxity of the skin.
  4. Tighten weak underlying muscles.
  5. Create a flatter abdomen.
  6. Sculpt a tighter and smoother waistline.

ABDOMINOPLASTY PROCEDURE DETAILS

Every tummy tuck performed by Dr. Brown is unique and customized to your goals and needs. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia for maximum comfort. Dr. Brown uses a special medication injected into the abdominal wall muscles that give up to 72 hours of pain relief after surgery, thus reducing the amount of narcotic medication required.

To access underlying fat and muscle, Dr. Brown will make the most discrete incision possible – the size of your incision will depend on the amount of excess skin needing to be removed. Once you’re under anesthesia, we will make the smallest incision possible to gain access to the underlying muscles.

Once the incision has been created, Dr. Brown will repair the abdominal muscles to restore a sculpted and toned appearance. He will then begin reducing unwanted fat, taking special care to ensure a natural-looking result. Finally, we will remove excess skin which often includes most of your lower abdominal stretch marks. Dr. Brown will continue to sculpt and contour the area until he has created a firm, flat, and youthful abdomen.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?*

Dr. Brown performs the tummy tuck procedure as an outpatient surgery, and most patients will be able to go home the same day. Some patients may prefer to spend a night in the hospital if they have young children at home or live alone and do not have any help at home.
