Exercising After Breast AugmentationMany of our breast augmentation patients are fit women who want to resume their healthy lifestyle as soon after surgery as possible. While Dr. Richard J. Brown does recommend movement during your recovery, you will need to ease into your regular exercise routine only after Dr. Brown clears you to do so.
The first week of your recovery, your exercise should consist of short walks around your home. It is important to start moving after your breast augmentation to enhance blood flow and help your body recover. However too much too soon can slow your recovery and cause you discomfort. It is always important to listen to your body and allow yourself the relaxation you need during recovery.
Within six weeks of your breast augmentation, you should feel well enough to resume most of your normal exercise activities. During your follow-up appointments, Dr. Brown will clear you for heavy lifting and vigorous exercise if you have healed appropriately.
