NECK LIFT
WHAT IS A NECK LIFT?
Displeasing neck contour is a problem noted by men and women of all ages. Excessive fat and/or skin in the neck area can often undermine one’s confidence and self-esteem. The sagging of the neck area can make a person appear aged. A neck lift procedure can be performed in most cases to correct this issue by tightening the skin, and underlying muscles to improve the overall contour of the individual’s neck and jawline. It is often performed with a facelift procedure.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A NECK LIFT?
You are an ideal candidate for a neck lift:
- If you are a non-smoker for at least 4 weeks before and after surgery
- If you have realistic expectations and are in good health
- If you have excessive skin and fat in the neck area
- If you have neck bands that are visible at rest
HOW DOES A NECK LIFT WORK?
Dr. Brown will evaluate your specific situation to see what surgical technique is best suited for you. Your neck lift may be performed in combination with a facelift and other facial procedures to help achieve your desired goals. It is very rare that a patient is a candidate for neck lift only surgery, however, your situation may be simple enough that it only requires a neck lift. Dr. Brown will be sure to review your goals and examine your specific anatomy at your consultation in order to produce a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM A NECK LIFT?*
- Improved Confidence
- Improved neck angle
- Correction of neck bands
- Tighter skin
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL PROCEDURE TAKE?*
The procedure typically takes 1-3 hours when performed alone. If your neck lift is being performed with other facial procedures it will take longer. General anesthesia is used and when a neck lift is performed alone you often will go home the same day. In some cases, local anesthesia or intravenous sedation may be used. Dr. Brown will determine what is best for your surgery at your consultation. It is recommended for you to wear loose clothing and to bring your compression garment on the day of surgery.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?*
Dr. Brown performs the tummy tuck procedure as an outpatient surgery, and most patients will be able to go home the same day. Some patients may prefer to spend a night in the hospital if they have young children at home or live alone and do not have any help at home.

"Hi, my name is Diana. I am a patient of Dr. Richard J. Brown. I started my breast reconstruction on March 23, 2012 after having a double mastectomy in May of 2012. Dr. Brown has done an amazing job, my progress is great and my breasts are beautiful once again. Dr. Brown is very compassionate and professional. Thank you Dr. Brown for giving me back what cancer took away from me."*. *Individual results may vary* "My experience with Dr. Brown and his staff has been nothing less than exceptional! It's been a long road. I just completed breast reconstruction/augmentation and removal of excess skin/fat from my upper arms following a 100+ pound weight loss. Very pleased with the early results! Not just highly recommended, but the highest recommendation ever!!!"* *Individual results may vary*- Diana R.
